Last night I had the pleasure of watching the Jewish Community Center’s Center Stage open their hearts and their pants in the movie-turned-musical, The Full Monty. It was a mixed performance that I have a hard time criticizing too much, as the audience that attended this opening night performance obviously had a great time.
The weather has been so warm and beautiful this winter that you may be reminded that Spring Break is near. DO NOT PANIC. We have the scoop on what to do with your kids so they don’t kill each other, or drive you crazy with complaints of “I’m bored!” and “There’s nothing to do!” Luckily there are many fun, entertaining and educational (shhhh, don’t tell the kids) Spring Break Camps offered around Louisville and Southern Indiana.
It's likely the last few days of glorious warm weather have you dreaming about the summer season, which is quickly approaching. But accompanying thoughts of sunshine and swimming pools are also probably concerns about entertaining your children for three whole months without the aid of the Louisville school systems! Luckily, the Jewish Community center is one step ahead, and will be hosting a Summer Camp Open House on-site on Sunday, March 18, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Bellarmine University art professor Bob Lockhart will bring more than 25 paintings spanning more than 30 years to the Jewish Community Center’s Patio Gallery, 3600 Dutchmans Lane, for an exhibit beginning this coming Sunday, May 15. A reception at 2 p.m. that day is free and open to the public.
Got a dirty dog in need of a refreshing day?
On Sunday, September 12th from 12noon-2 pm, the Jewish Community Center (3600 Dutchman's Lane) will be sponsoring a "Doggy Dip" for pets. The cost is $5 for up to two pets, with $2 for each additional dog. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Shamrock Foundation, www.shamrockpets.org.
