  • "State Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer spent $1,576 in state money last month while promoting the Department of Agriculture’s Kentucky Proud program at the Sweet Sixteen boys’ basketball tournament in Lexington. Much of that cost was for four nights at a $359-a-night suite at the Lexington Downtown Hilton. Farmer lives 28 miles from Rupp Arena in Frankfort.

Help benefit the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer by entering the first annual Rooties for Hooties Cornhole Tournament at Rootie's Sports Bar and Grille, 12205 Westport Road on Friday, October 22, 2010. Show up for happy hour, and sign up beginning at 5:30 p.m. The blind draw, double-elimination tournament begins at 6:30 p.m., and happy hour lasts until 7:00. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winning team, items will be raffled, and each participant receives a door prize.
