The first Sarabande Reading Series of 2010 will be held at the 21C Museum Hotel on Monday, January 25 at 7:30 p.m. Poets Sandra Meek and Kristi Maxwell will read from their works, followed by a performance by folk singer Lacey Guthrie. And, did I mention that this event is free? You are familiar with Sarabande Books, right? It’s a local, nonprofit literary press that was founded in 1994. They publish poetry and short fiction, two genres that tend to get overlooked by mainstream publishers.
