Kentucky Opera presented its last production of the season, Franz Lehar's The Merry Widow. Full of fin de siecle excess and broad comedy, it's more musical theater than opera.
The show will go on for Kentucky Opera's production of The Merry Widow with a replacement orchestra made up of local musicians and a late substitution for Kentucky Opera Conductor Joseph Mechavich, who announced his departure today.
The show must go on for Kentucky Opera, even without an orchestra. The Marriage of Figaro opened Friday night at the Brown Theatre.
