This past weekend, Sasha Grey, a 23-year-old actress, photographer, model, and performing artist from North Highlands, California traveled to Louisville to watch the Kentucky Derby in person for the first time.
If you’ve lived in the Louisville area for long, you know what happens the second weekend of March each year on the outskirts of downtown.
Since that weekend often corresponds with my birthday celebrations, I sometimes let the madness that can be the annual St. Patrick’s Day festivities of the area slip my mind.
If you're tired of doing the same old thing every year for your significant other like **cough cough** chocolates and roses, it's time you checked out what Lynn's Paradise Cafe has in store this year for Valentine's Day. You know it's the most unique restaurant in Louisville and they've always got something fun planned for special holidays, so join in on the good times by going back in time!
Today all day until 10pm, Lynn's Paradise Cafe (984 Barrett Avenue) will be celebrating Valentine's Day by hosting a prom.
Lynn's Paradise Cafe is one of the city's most well known establishment. Not only is it a restaurant with a quirky attitude (and unique store attached), it also happens to have a pretty amazing menu to backup all of the accolades.
In line with their quirkiness, Lynn's is celebrating New Year's in its own way.
This Thursday (Thanksgiving Day for those of you work-a-holics), Lynn's Paradise Cafe & World of Swirl (984 Barrett Ave) will be hosting their first annual "Open Giving" celebration for Turkey Day!
Best of Louisville Bash 2010 Thursday July 22nd at Mellwood Arts Center
Each year the past and present winners of Louisville Magazine's "Best of Louisville" Award come together to share their choice menu items, products, and services. It promises to be a night filled with food, music, a silent auction, and a Bourbon Trail.
Maybe it was a Christmas present you received in 1987, or maybe it was part of an inheritance from your great aunt Mildred from her estate 20 years ago. Or, maybe you’ve decorated your own little piece of amazing that someone else may not view as beautiful as you do. Whatever your lovely or laughable lighting accessory may be, Lynn’s wants it in their Ugly Lamp Contest held during the KY state fair.
That’s right: get your entries in now until August 15th to win the title of Ugliest Lamp in one of three categories:
Dennis Shaffner has a lot in common with birds—that is, he is very much at home when it comes to nests.
