64°F8:25 AM The mayors of Louisville and Lexington met today at the Kentucky History Center, in Frankfort, ostensibly to discuss economic development issues with other business and government officials. But we are in the midst of “March Madness,” so the conversations naturally devolved into NCAA Final Four trash talk.
You can enjoy the madness that is March from the comfort of your home, but by doing so you forgo the true spectacles that can really only be appreciated from the spirited arenas themselves. So far this week in Louisville's KFC Yum! Center, we've enjoyed some great moments. We've got mascots, cheerleaders, candid shots and fan posters. Enjoy these photos from the Wednesday and Thursday festivities.
As you’ve pretended to be a college basketball expert and filled out your tournament bracket this year, you may have noticed four Kentucky basketball programs amidst the field of 68. Generally speaking, when one says “Kentucky Basketball,” one is referring to only one team. This year, “Kentucky Basketball” means something completely different.
March Madness is here. No, literally, it’s here. In town. At the KFC Yum! Center. The overall top-seed Kentucky Wildcats and the surprise team of the season, Murray State, will both open NCAA play in Louisville. Meanwhile, the Yum (do I really have to put an apostrophe every time I type it? That’s getting old) Center’s in-season residents, who won the Big East Championship, are rewarded with a trip to Portland. UofL head coach Rick Pitino laughed when he heard his team might have been better off losing to Cincinnati in the Big East title game.

Welcome to Louisville Murray State, Colorado State, Marquette, Connecticut, Iowa State, Kentucky, and Mississippi Valley State or Western Kentucky and BYU or Iona fans—
Day 1 will tip-off at Madison Square Garden at 12pm with quite an interesting game, No.16 Depaul and No.9 Uconn. It is key that Connecticut wins today, if they want to dance. Louisville will face the winner of (Game 3) which features Providence vs Seton Hall, they tip-off at 7pm. I expect Louisville to get it together and play exceptionally well in this tournament. Their defense has been a constant throughout the season, I think Kyle Kuric and Chris Smith will get in a groove, and the other teammates will follow suit.
