The mayor is ready to move forward and help Louisville become a healthier place to live.

The mayor is ready to move forward and help Louisville become a healthier place to live. He won our city an award “for a 2012 US Conference of Mayors Childhood Obesity Prevention” (Healthy Hometown Movement). The mayor has moved in the direction we want him to. He is working to make this city one of the healthiest places to live.

Hike, Bike, and Paddle gears up for labor day [Sports]

The eighth annual Hike, Bike, and Paddle event is setting up for labor day.

This labor day do something good for yourself and your family with Mayor Greg Fisher’s Hike, Bike, and Paddle. A labor-day event, the Hike, Bike, and Paddle has proven itself to be one of the most popular activities in the area.

This year the event has gained such attention that in addition to the usual walking, boating, and biking annually held, a course for kayaking and canoeing as well as morning yoga and tai-chi will be added to the events festivities.

Does Louisville prefer Pepsi or Coke? [Food & Dining]

The Louisville Zoo, Churchill Downs, Slugger Field and even the Mayor of Louisville himself weigh in on this storied debate. What's your preference?
This is a different kind of red vs. blue debate than what you may be used to here in Cardinal Nation, but it may be equally as competitive. Coca-Cola has a more deeply rooted history and a slightly higher level of brand recognition than Pepsi, but is Coke still the most popular choice among soda drinkers here in the Lou?

Mayor Fischer says Museum Plaza isn't dead [News]

Mayor Fischer admitted that there was still plenty of hope that the project could still be built, and his tone indicated that the project is anything but dead in the water.

On a WFPL news special, Louisville's Mayor Greg Fischer took questions from listeners on all things Louisville.

I called in to ask him about the Museum Plaza project.

The EntrepreMayor [Louisville Magazine]

Three days before being elected mayor of Louisville, Greg Fischer was riding around town in an antique red fire truck known as the Pool Party Express.

Mayor Greg Fischer engages Twitter and fellow Louisvillians [Technology]

It's been a little over one hundred days since Greg Fischer has been in office as Louisville's new mayor. One key aspect I've been watching for is if Mayor Fischer will engage and use social media as a platform to communicate and engage the local community. Find out if he has in this article.

It's been a little over one hundred days since Greg Fischer has been in office as Louisville's new mayor. One key aspect I've been watching for is if Mayor Fischer will engage and use social media as a platform to communicate and engage the local community.

After an intial tweet to Mayor Fischer, a few weeks after he took office as Louisville's new mayor, about whether or not he'll be leveraging Twitter and not hearing a response back, I almost gave up hope; but not entirely.

CITYspace on Main grand opening [Downtown]

Local business owners, great BBQ, bluegrass music, door prizes, and a Willie Nelson impersonator....now THAT'S a grand opening!

On Friday, CITYspace on Main, Louisville's first and only urban self storage facility, opened their doors for invited guests to get a sneak preview of the facility.

Admittedly, I was not expecting to be wowed by the place. I mean, it was a storage facility, right? However, it ended up being the nicest storage facility I had ever seen. 200 units, climate controlled, and very, very clean. (The running joke of the evening was how spectacular the restroom was.  And it was.).
