Irish Eyes Are Locally Smiling....[Food and Dining]

"I dunno, wherever you like is fine honey,"....An age old answer from girls which is like 'pleading the fifth' when trying to plan a date. You know you're guilty for knowing what you want, but will never admit the truth. From a guy's perspective the decision making is harder than asking the girl out for the first time. This past week for my birthday I turned the tables as my wife struggled on where to go out for dinner. "I just want a great steak and potatoes - ladies choice,". Luckily I have a great gal with a wonderful knowledge of Louisville and Pat's Steak House it was.

Fall Festival at Lifepointe Church promises family fun [Family]

During the season of witches, zombies and monsters (oh my!), here's an event that the whole family will enjoy.

The Halloween season can be a lot of fun. It's the only time when spotting zombies, mummies and other various members of the living dead is not a bad thing. But sometimes, it can be a little much for some of the younger kids.

So, what are some of the options for families that want to keep it a bit more simple? That's easy...there are several Fall Festivals around the area that offer families a great option to the usual Halloween fare.

One of them takes place tonight at Lifepointe Church in Middletown at their Fall Festival.

Hillbilly Outfield preview [Kentucky Derby]

If you're looking for a Derby party far from the madness of Churchill Downs, check out the live music, freshly made BBQ, and unpretentious atmosphere of the Hillbilly Outfield.

It takes a special man to open his house to 500 strangers on Derby Day. Every year at Derby, Jim Hafendorfer locks up his house and invites the world into his yard. People bring tents and camp all weekend. You can play some cornhole, take a dip in the pool, and keep up with the races all without keeping away from the infield's crowds.

Your $40 admission is good for all weekend and includes all you can eat and drink, a silent auction, and the party itself.

Around The Town: Middletown

Middletown, Kentucky. You've probably been there and at least driven through it. But, do you know what it is "in the middle" of?

Middletown is one of the most historic locations within Jefferson County, originally chartered in 1797. Along with having a long and charming past on its resume, it also served as a portal for the journey for most spectators into Valhalla for the Ryder Cup. Its residents are proud of the deep heritage, beautiful scenery and neighborhood feel. Mayor J Byron Chapman takes us inside this quaint little city that may be in the middle, but most certainly stands alone!

1. What is your history with the city?
