You can enjoy the madness that is March from the comfort of your home, but by doing so you forgo the true spectacles that can really only be appreciated from the spirited arenas themselves. March Madness basketball is always a thrill, but it’s never better than having it right in your backyard. Check out the Louisville.com coverage from opening day.

If you’re visiting Louisville and attending NCAA 2nd and 3rd round games, welcome. Your excitement helped fill the KFC Yum! Center on the opening day of the NCAA Tournament. Fans were sporting their spectrum of colors as they waited anxiously for the front doors of the arena to open to the public at 10:45 this a.m.

Four Kentucky basketball teams are among the field of 68 in the NCAA Tournament this year. You can see three of the four right here in Louisville at your very own KFC Yum! Center. Check out coverage from Practice Day.

As you’ve pretended to be a college basketball expert and filled out your tournament bracket this year, you may have noticed four Kentucky basketball programs amidst the field of 68. Generally speaking, when one says “Kentucky Basketball,” one is referring to only one team. This year, “Kentucky Basketball” means something completely different.

Who cares when Duke plays North Carolina in football? . . . But the UK -- U of L rivalry goes across the board.

He thinks U of L versus UK is the hottest rivalry in college sports, that Louisville desperately needs an NBA team, and he’s a proud alum of Murray State University – whose basketball team has been surprisingly ranked as high as 9th in the country, this season. Kendrick Haskins has strong beliefs about sports. Not surprising to learn that WAVE-3’s sports’ reporter and weekend anchor can still admit to being a “kid at heart.” And kids love games, right?

Three Kentucky NCAA basketball teams remain perfect [Sports]

UK and Louisville may have bid goodbye to a perfect season, but three other NCAA teams in the Bluegrass State are hanging on to an undefeated record.

The Indiana Hoosiers knocked Kentucky from the undefeated ranks in December. Georgetown followed suit a few weeks later by handing Louisville it’s first loss of the season. Still, the basketball mad Bluegrass State can boast THREE undefeated NCAA teams.

Scouting Memphis

Memphis, No. 11 in the AP’s preseason poll, dropped out of the top 25 this week with its 76-72 home loss to unbeaten Murray State. The Tigers (5-3) return all five starters from last year’s 25-10 team and was the preseason pick to win Conference USA

Sophomore guard Will Barton leads Memphis with 20.4 points and 7.6 rebounds a game. The fast-paced Memphis attack is 16th in the nation at 81.1 points a contest.

UK top seed in East; UofL No. 9 in South

The University of Kentucky is the No. 1 seed in the East Region in the NCAA Tournament men's basketball pairings that were released Sunday evening. The University of Louisville is a No. 9 seed in the South, while Murray State is the No. 13 seed in the West.
