If you get tired of being a hippy at Abbey Road on the River, work up a thirst picking strawberries at the 31st Annual Starlight Strawberry Festival, or don't feel like trolley hopping come on down to Spinelli's Pizza Downtown and eat some pizza, cool off with a beer, and listen to some rock and roll music provided by The Whiskey
I believe the spirit of a culture is encapsulated in the cuisine. Italian food is full bodied and indulgent, simmering with strong flavor and the textures of luxury. Volare, on 2300 Frankfort Avenue, serves the best Italian food I've had the pleasure to devour in our weird and wacky town.

This review contains crabbiness and cheerfulness in about the same ratio. Garage is one of the neatest places I've ever stepped into: the location, art and decor make it worth my time. The old garage on Market street has been turned into a restaurant specializing in interesting pizzas and oysters, with a fully equipped bar and an art installation out front. The two cars being pushed together slowly is a good metaphor for the difficulty I had balancing my pocketbook and my taste buds at Garage.
Louisville based restaurant and the third largest take-out and pizza delivery chain in the United States, Papa John's, recently apologized to customer, Minhee Cho, after a cashier wrote "lady chinky eyes' on her receipt. She went for a slice of pie and left with a side of racism.

As we have mentioned earlier, the block of Cardinal Blvd. between 4th and 3rd street, which used to house Masterson’s and its parking lot, has recently been converted to Cardinal Towne, which contains housing for University of Louisville students and several restaurants.

As I watched Yes on stage at The Louisville Palace Saturday night, my mind wandered back to the first Yes concert I attended 27 years ago. It was at the Riverfront Coliseum in Cincinnati, and my friends and I had stood in line all night on a frosty February evening for tickets. We were a bunch of high school seniors having a great adventure, and we weren't disappointed three months later when the band took the stage.
Recently, The Daily Beast conducted a poll ranking US cities by the number of fast food restaurants per number of residents. The poll revealed that Louisville has 147.1 fast food restaurants per 100,000 people, putting us #2 on the list. Honestly, I'm not surprised. After all, we live in the land of Yum!
