DIVORCE: There is a playlist for that [Music]

Can the right music make divorce easier to deal with? Find out what to listen to, what to drink and where to visit when faced with a split in Louisville.

Divorce can be nasty. According to my friend Kathy, it can feel like Jack Bauer’s “Russian Gulag Towel Torture” on 24, where someone stuffs a towel down your throat and pulls your guts back out. You can Google it. As I have watched several friends’ relationships crumble, I've built a playlist to help the hurt! In putting these together, I’ve identified some melodic genres of heartache, what they drink and where they hang.

The mix tape, Louisville style [Music]

Louisville musicians Scott Carney, Todd Hildreth, and Brigid Kaelin are among those who offer up their thoughts on the art of what makes a mix tape work.
Chances are you have either made a mix tape for someone or received one. When the phrase "mix tape" is uttered, it is understood that it generally means a mix CD these days. Think of it like saying "Coke" to mean "soda." Mix tapes are about flow and feeling not happenstance. The mix tape, like a concept record, should be compiled with its entirety in mind. Even if the theme is bound by a certain moment in time, the song order is critical to its overall effect. And people in Louisville are generally like anyone else when it comes to making the perfect mix tape.
