76°F9:39 PM How far has the Louisville Cardinal basketball “brand” fallen? Consider this headline from the Washington Post: ‘Louisville rebounds from blowout with close loss at Marquette.’ Yes, the national perception of UofL basketball is that losing is considered a “rebound.” However, the NCAA tournament committee won’t look at moral victories as a reason to hand out an at-large bid to the Cardinals.
It wasn't pretty. It may have not been what Head Coach Rick Pitino hoped for. But, it was simply good enough.
The Louisville Cardinals improved to 8-0 after defeating IUPUI Wednesday night, in front of 20,604 in the KFC YUM! Center. Senior Guard, Chris Smith, scored his 1000th point of this career, and also led the team in scoring with 19 points. However, it didn't come easy for the Cardinals, who led by just 5 at the halftime break.

The University of Louisville men's basketball team has taken a double hit.
Friday UofL announced that neither former Memphis guard Roburt Sallie nor 2010 signee Justin Coleman will be eligible to play for the Cardinals in the 2010-11 season.
According to the announcement Sallie, who had signed a financial aid agreement with UofL in June, won't play "due to the timing requirements of meeting the matriculation deadline for graduate school."
