The Louisville Bats' stay in first place in the International League West lasted just one day as host Columbus rode three big innings to a 12-4 win over the Bats at Huntington Park on Friday night to retake first place in the IL West and end Louisville's eight-game win streak.

The Louisville Bats completed a four-game sweep of the Norfolk Tides over the weekend, beating them 8-7 Friday, 5-2 Saturday and 8-7 Sunday to move within 2 1/2 games of International League West-leading Columbus.

Louisville Bats first baseman Yonder Alonso has been named the International League Batter of the Week. From July 26-Aug. 1 - when the Bats won six straight games - Alonso led the IL in batting average, hits and slugging percentage. He was also second on-base percentage and doubles.
