Welcome to Louisville [Opinion: The Arena]

Welcome to Louisville!
Louisville has the prettiest girls, most beautiful flowers, best food & liquor, and fastest horses in the whole damn world (at least for this week), and we’re proud to share them with our honored guests. As grandpa used to say: “It don’t get much better than this.”

If you’ve come to Louisville for the races, or are just passing through on your way to Albuquerque for the Cinco de Mayo festivities, welcome to our little city by the Falls of the Ohio River.  We pride ourselves on our hospitality, food, and laid-back ambience.  And our weather… Did we mention our hospitality, etc.?  We want you to have a good time, and generally feel like Blanche DuBois felt in the last line of

Louisville is for lovers (of art) [Family and parenting]

Family-friendly art in the city this week.

It’s good to be raising a family in Louisville this week. Not only will we almost reach 60 degrees by mid-week, but there are some unique, cheap, family-friendly opportunities to experience some great art in the city. Valentine’s Day is on Monday, and this week, Louisville just might be for lovers of art (even lovers with kids).

Daddy day care: kid-friendly activities around town that won't suck for dads [Family and parenting]

A testosterone-filled guide filled with ideas for kid and dad diversions around Louisville.

Soon I will be heading back to teaching full time, which means my nearly 17-month stint as a stay-at-home mom will end. "I don't know....we can go to Lowe's. Or maybe he can help me work on the car?" Images of our 17-month-old covered in diesel weilding a ratchet flashed before my eyes.
