74°F11:10 PM The Louisville Crashers are known to be the life of the party, and February 5 will be the biggest party they have been involved with; the Super Bowl. As part of a grouping of bands from across the country, The Crashers will be entertaining NBC VIP’s, guests, and talent in the Convention Center at this year’s Super Bowl.
While you’re pounding beers and listening to a room full of people who feel obligated to laugh out loud at every Super Bowl commercial or you’re trying to track down the culprit who clogged your toilet, former University of Louisville wide receiver Deion Branch will have more important things on his mind…like a third Super Bowl ring.
I have not worked the day after the Super Bowl since 1996. It’s simple to write that act off as a childish response to a very bad hangover, but there’s more to it than that. To paraphrase a line from REO Speedwagon’s “I Can’t Fight This Feeling Anymore,” what started out as a hangover, has grown stronger.
It may be only the second annual, but this year’s Taste of Derby is shaping up to be quite the Louisville happening. The 2011 event promises to be bigger and better than last year—and with top chefs from around the country, horse racing celebrities and 1,000 guests, that’s quite an undertaking.
The big game is just a couple of days away. Here’s a few quick dishes that you can whip up if you still haven’t figured out what you’re going to feed the crowd.
Fruit dip - Blend a package of softened strawberry cream cheese and a jar of marshmallow cream. Serve with your favorite fruits.
Lets put the power of social media to a test. If you haven't already heard, there's a big football game this weekend, it's called the Super Bowl. Also, if you didn't know, Louisville has a tie this monumental game; Steelers' cornerback, William Gay. He's a Louisville football alumni and I think we can get him to #ThrowTheL during Super Bowl XLV (45).
