On Fat Fridays, TARC and the neighborhood association sponsoring the Trolley Hop that month always has something exciting in store for you.  This Fat Friday the Frankfort Avenue Business Association (FABA) and TARC Transportation came together with the Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center and many local businesses down Frankfort Avenue to provide an evening of relaxation, arts, entertainment and support for the community.

Previewing at Mellwood this month were 2 new Galleries, The Kore Gallery and Meg Krakowiak Gallery & Studio.

TARC is planning to raise your bus fare again [Opinion: The Arena]

Your bus ride will soon be more expensive...
"We simply do not have the operating revenue to continue the level of service we now provide everywhere because of rising expenses for fuel, health care, pensions and other costs. The proposed changes are designed to keep as much service as possible to meet the greatest needs with a balanced budget."

The Transit Authority of River City (TARC), Louisville’s government-owned bus company, announced today that it wants to raise fares and make service changes, including elimination of nine express routes, to offset a projected $4.6 million budget shortfall next fiscal year which begins July 1.

On Monday, July 4, 2011, Sunday schedules will be operated on all lines due to the holiday.

TARC gearing up for Thunder Over Louisville [Thunder]

About 10,000 passengers are expected to choose TARC and avoid parking hassles for the annual fireworks event on the river this year.

TARC is adding buses on regular routes for Thunder Over Louisville Saturday, with boarding after the event limited to five staging areas blocks from the waterfront, a repeat of service that worked well for last year's Thunder.

Buses will be added to 15 routes starting at about 3:30 p.m., adding capacity and resulting in more frequent bus arrival times at stops.

TARC, Metro Parks and Solid Waste Management announce changes in activity for the weeks surrounding the holidays.

Your family isn’t the only thing that gets completely thrown out of whack with the nearing of the holidays… So does the regular schedule of almost everything. From schools to stores to office hours, nothing in this city is open, active or taking questions at the times they usually are during the weeks surrounding Christmas, etc.
