Confession time. Since my college days, I have had a slight penchant for VH1’s ‘Jump Start’ show that runs in the morning (after Springer was on of course). The show plays music videos, mostly of current ‘popular’ music that crosses most genres.
While I am personally fond of women musicians, specifically singers, there is one whose ground breaking style was far ahead of her time. Before the likes of Regina Spektor and Kate Nash, who I think have similar sounds, there was Fiona Apple.
So by now you’ve all heard me ramble on about local various acts gracing our fair city, how about I moved back from NYC and am still pleasantly surprised at the constant stream of great music here, and even about one of the catalysts of some of these visiting acts, Hunter Embry.
