Louisville Bats first baseman Yonder Alonso has been named the International League Batter of the Week. From July 26-Aug. 1 - when the Bats won six straight games - Alonso led the IL in batting average, hits and slugging percentage. He was also second on-base percentage and doubles.

The Louisville Bats set a franchise record with their 22nd victory in July on Saturday night with a 10-2 win over International League West-leading Columbus. A first-inning grand slam by Wladimir Balentien, left, got the Louisville Bats' offense going early, and it was just the beginning, as Louisville lambasted Charlotte 19-6 Tuesday night at Louisville Slugger Field.
