Goodwill Zine helps grow Louisville's youth DIY scene
Living in the modern ideas of globalization, it can be hard for youth to seek out and find out what is going on locally. The Goodwill is a local youth arts zine created by June Leffler in 2009 to write about and inform local youth.
The free print publication is currently celebrating it's 9th issue in two years.
Will Lady Gaga's Louisville concert affect the city's view on the gay community? [News]
Lady Gaga is finally coming to Louisville on March 12, 2011 at the new KFC Yum! Center, but what does that mean (other than a fun concert)? Lady Gaga is at the forefront of gay rights activism and recently joined U.S. Senator Harry Reid in suggesting the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." (See video of her her speech at the end of this post.)
Get ready to audition for the Louisville Youth Orchestra [Music]
A lot of people were excited to hear about the upcoming My Morning Jacket concert featuring the Louisville Youth Orchestra – also one of the first shows to christen the brand new KFC Yum! Center Arena on Friday, October 29, 2010. Even better news is that if you or one of your talented youngsters (through age 21 years old) plays any orchestral instrument, you can get a lot more involved than just buying a concert ticket.
