Louisville's 10-4 win over host Toledo, coupled with Columbus' 4-3 13-inning loss to Syracuse, gave the Bats a half-game lead over the Clippers in the West. The Louisville Bats won their seventh straight game Wednesday night, and their 18th in their last 19th, beating host Toledo 4-3 at Fifth Third Field. The victory pulled Louisville, which was 13 games out of first place in the International League West on the Fourth of July, within a half-game of division-leading Columbus.

The Louisville Bats completed a four-game sweep of the Norfolk Tides over the weekend, beating them 8-7 Friday, 5-2 Saturday and 8-7 Sunday to move within 2 1/2 games of International League West-leading Columbus.
