The Louisville Orchestra-presented Bartok Concerto for Orchestra is set to take place at Kentucky Center on Thursday and Friday.
Both performances will take place in Whitney Hall at the Kentucky Center for the Arts, located at 501 West Main Street in downtown Louisville. The first performance on Thursday, March 25, at 10:30 a.m., will happen as the Treyton Oak Towers Coffee Concert Bartok Concerto for Orchestra. The second performance, on Friday, March 26, at 8 p.m. will be the Hilliard Lyons Classic Bartok Concerto for Orchestra.

Five years ago, New Orleans was in ruins from Hurricane Katrina. Thousands were displaced, and some never returned to their homes. For many, there was no home to return to.

With their newest album Diamond Eyes just released a few months ago the Deftones go back out on tour, and are set to perform this evening at Expo Five. I've been listening to this band for years now, but have never actually had the opportunity to check them out live. This will be a real treat, especially if you're familiar with their newest album, and by the grace of god they end up playing quite a bit of the material from it.

The Louisville Orchestra kicks off its new season Friday, September 3, 8:30 p.m., at Whitney Hall with guest artist Sarah Chang, who will play Felix Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto as part of the program. Chang began her career as an eight-year-old prodigy and has gone on to play with the world's major orchestras, winning rave reviews and becoming a successful EMI recording artist.
