e starting this Thursday. Join them at 60 West Bistro in St. Matthews where Cami Walker, Author of "29 Gifts: How A Month Of Giving Can Change Your Life" will talk about the healing powers of giving and sign copies of her book.
In addition to encouraging individuals to try the 29 Day Giving Challange, the MS Society recruited 29 social, civic, and business leaders here in Louisville who will each give away something significant. At the end of 29 Days, the MS Society will cap off the event with their annual 5K Walk at Waterfront Park.
The theory behind the challenge is that small acts cumulatively add up to make a big difference. You don't have to be the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in order to change the world. Do something small, something within your means every day, and over time the effects snowball. The theory reminds me of studies that show it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert. Those first 10 hours may make you feel like you're wasting your time, but you have to start the long, slow march towards 10,000 somewhere.
The 29 Day Giving Challange Website
encourages all participants to blog their experiences with 29 days of giving so you can really track the impact it makes on your daily life.
If you decide to sign up for the 29 Day Giving Challenge, we'd love to follow up with you in a month to find out how it impacted your life.
