Actor's Choice returns to the Henry Clay Theatre in the production The Lion in Winter, which opens this Thursday.

The Lion in Winter will take place on Aug. 30, 31, Sept. 1, 6, 7, and 8 at 7:30 p.m. each night.  A matinee will happen on Sept. 9 at 2:30 p.m.  All performances are to happen at the Henry Clay Theatre, located inside the Henry Clay Building at 604 South Third Street in Old Louisville.

Tickets for each show are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, and $18 for students.  Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling 502-495-8358.

Family and interpersonal relationships make things interesting for an English royal couple in The Lion in Winter.  Henry II and wife Eleanor, in 1183 England, wonder how to handle their three sons, who want to be heirs to the throne.  Meanwhile, King Philip of France has arrived to keep Henry aware of a treaty that would have said heir marry Philip's sister, who just happens to be Henry's mistress.  Throw in a civil war, and one can expect a lot of situations to happen.

Kathi E.B. Ellis directed The Lion in Winter, which features Roger Fristoe as Henry and Susan McNeese Lynch as Eleanor.
