Actors Theatre Presents The Last Five Years
    Print this page

    October.

For many Actors Theatre of Louisville fans, that means one thing: Dracula.

But while performances of Dracula are frightening the daylights out of audiences in one space, theatre goers can have quite a different experience in another, right next door.

Because concurrent to the run of Dracula, Actors Theatre is set to open a completely different type of story; a musical that focuses on the joys and the heartbreaks of relationships: The Last Five Years.

The intimate musical has a cast of only two, but the story is a powerful one, following the course of the relationship between Jamie and Cathy from opposite directions; one moving forward from their first meeting; one moving backward from the end of their love.

Poigniant. Compelling. "Break-your-heart beautiful," says the New York Post.

Directed by Actors Theatre Associate Artistic Director Meredith McDonough, The Last Five Years brings new faces to Louisville, as both actors in the production, Autumn Hurlburt (Cathy) and Jed Resnick (Jamie) are making their debuts with Actors Theatre, as is Music Director Brian Nash.

The Last Five Years will offer several special performance during the run:

    • Open Captioned Performance, Saturday, October 18, 4pm
    • Audio Described Performance, Sunday, October 19, 2:30pm

The Last Five Years runs now through October 26th. Tickets for the production start at $25 and are available online or by calling the Actors Theatre box office at 502.584.1205.
