    Art Eatables Celebrating 3rd Anniversary

When Art Eatables moved to 4th Street, bourbon tourism downtown was just a twinkle in Louisville’s eye.  Then the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience opened right around the corner on Main Street, followed by Kentucky Peerless on 10th by the flood wall, and most recently the Jim Beam Urban Stillhouse right down the block.  Soon Angel’s Envy and Old Forester will join the ranks, and when you throw The Frazier’s many bourbon-related exhibits as well as Butchertown's Copper & Kings American Brandy Distillery, moving right into the heart of Downtown Louisville was obviously a wise choice.

Founder Kelly Ramsey worked in Finance when she began experimenting with candy making.  She started off with cocktail chocolates but eventually ended up making bourbon truffles, which no one else was doing at the time.  In 2013 Art Eatables was featured as one of “6 Southern Chocolatiers” in Garden and Gun Magazine.  In 2014, Art Eatables Bourbon Truffles were included in the gift bags at the Oscars.  Art Eatables was also a food finalist in Martha Stewart’s American Made contest.  So far in 2015, Art Eatables has made runner up in the Southern Living Food Awards and has been named the Best Candy Store in Kentucky by the Food Network.  They are also the only Stave and Thief Certified Chocolatier in the world.  That’s just a smattering of their accolades.

According to Ramsey, Art Eatable’s mission is to spread the word about bourbon through chocolate.  “I love bourbon and I want everyone to love bourbon. The chocolate is the way I get them to it.”

Art Eatables will celebrate its 3rd anniversary on November 5th.  They are planning an all-day birthday party at the store complete with music, a food truck, and hourly giveaways.  They may even have a sample or two of their lovely handmade bourbon truffles!  Congratulations to Art Eatables on 3 years.  Many happy returns!
