Louisville’s craft beer market continues to expand with the newest addition of Beer Engine Brewery, which will be located in the old

    Ave, later this Fall.

With its home base in Danville, KY, owner Brian Holton and his partners, Ian Lujik, and Dr. James Turpin, have had their mind set on expanding to Louisville since they purchased the old Germantown space back in 2012.

The Schnitzelburg neighborhood, just three miles southeast of downtown Louisville, is the perfect location for the upcoming brewery as it will be the only brewery among the many brew-pups within the Germantown area. And, if Beer Engine hasn’t already proved their success since opening their doors in February 2011, with awards like Danville’s Oldest Brewery and Most Craft Taps in a (Danville) Bar, then we know they will be just as successful here in Louisville.

Beer Engine owners are excited to be a part of the growing Louisville appreciation for good food and good beer, while quenching those thirsty taste buds with new concoctions such as Melkweg, Najaar, and Zomer. Along with their own craft beers, Beer Engine is also planning a menu that will not only complement their craft beers, but will also include sustainable, locally grown and raised food that is easy on the wallet.

Beer Engine has yet to set an official opening date, as they have a had a few setbacks with building issues, however they are expected to open later this Fall. Stay tuned.
