Attention all music-loving Louisvillians with an ear for late '60s rock 'n' roll tones. The heavy, psychedelic rockers, Black Mountain and The Black Angels will be making a stop in Louisville Tuesday, November 9.

While the two bands originated in opposite ends of North America (The Black Angels of Austin and Black Mountain of Vancouver), they've seemed to share an audible understanding. Fresh off the release of their third album, both bands make it easy for listeners to digest their respective brands of dirty, vintage, reverbed-out rock.

The Black Angel's most recent work, Phosphene Dream, released Sept. 14 in the US, debuted at #50 on Billboard's Top 200, while Black Mountain's latest, Wilderness Heart (released the same day) is a change-up from their usual sound, partially due to their recording sessions in California's Sunset Sound (everything recorded prior was done in Seattle).

Each album released by Black Mountain and The Black Angels has been well-received and so have their tours. The Black Angels spent some time on the road opening for The Black Keys, Wolfmother and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, while Black Mountain did a month-long stint with Coldplay (which is in no way an indication of BM's sound, just their musical credibility).

Tickets are $ 15 and can be purchased at Ear X-tacy, Wild n' Woolly and online at This is an 18 and over show with the doors opening @ 9 pm.
