    Black Tie

Cultures and traditions of the past and present collide as a father prepares to toast in Black Tie, which Little Colonel Playhouse will present beginning this weekend.

Black Tie will take place on Oct. 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11 at 8 p.m. each night. Matinees on Oct. 5 and 12 will happen at 2 p.m. each day. All performances are to go on at Little Colonel Playhouse, located at 302 Mount Mercy Dr. in Pewee Valley, KY.

Tickets for each show are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 60 and over, and $12 for students. All tickets can be purchased at the door or reserved by calling 502-588-1557. Keep in mind that Little Colonel Playhouse does not accept credit cards.

Black Tie focuses on Curtis, the father of the groom who is about to make what he hopes is a memorable toast. Before this can happen, however, he must deal with upholding his own father's traditions while also handling the needs of his soon-to-be family. Cultures continue to clash due to Curtis's wardrobe choice and when a surprise guest arrives.

A.R. Gurney created the production, which David Pilkinton directed for Little Colonel Playhouse.

Following Black Tie, Little Colonel Playhouse will present Critic's Choice. Auditions for the show are on Oct 5 and 6, and the show will take place in December. More information can be found at the Little Colonel Playhouse website.
