Bourbon Authors To Host Benefit For Silver Trail Explosion Victims
    Print this page

In the days and weeks following the Silver Trail Distillery explosion and fire, folks from across the state banded together to support and help both the injured distillers and their families.  Tragically, Kyle Rogers lost his battle on May 11th, but his cousin Jay is still fighting for his life.  Both families need help and support during this difficult time.

Copper and Kings Distillery here in Louisville is hosting a Highballs on High benefit this Friday May 29th to raise money for the Rogers’ families.  Now another local event has been announced that will benefit the families.

Local whiskey writer Fred Minnick has joined forces with Westport Whiskey and Wine to have a book signing benefit with other local writers.  The event will take place June 13 from 1-3 p.m.  The following writers will be on hand for the event:

Reid Mitenbuler, author of Bourbon Empire

Chuck Cowdery, author of Bourbon, Strange and Bourbon, Bourbon Straight

Mike Veach, author of Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey

Tim Laird, author of That’s Entertaining!

Susan Reigler, author of The Kentucky Bourbon Cocktail Book and Kentucky Bourbon Country

Lew Bryson, author of Tasting Whiskey

Bernie Lubbers, author of Bourbon Whiskey Our Native Spirit

Chester Zoeller, author of Bourbon in Kentucky and Kentucky Bourbon Barons

Sally Van Winkle Campbell, author of But Always Fine Bourbon

Albert Schmid, author of The Old Fashioned

Fred Minnick, author of Whiskey Women

Mark your calendars for this awesome fundraising event.  Bourbon brings people together in the most wonderful ways possible, even in the wake of such a terrible tragedy.  Thank you to all these writers for donating their time for such a worthy cause.
