A Bourbony Spin On Thanksgiving Recipes
    Print this page

No matter what's on the menu, you can always give it a bourbony spin.  If you are so inclined, everything on your Thanksgiving table this year can be made with love and bourbon.  Here are a few bourbony replacements for your traditional Turkey Day fare.

-Here's a recipe for a bourbon brined smoked turkey.  If you don't want to do all that work, you could always call 502 Cafe instead.

-This recipe is for bourbon bacon stuffing (actually, dressing if you want to get technical).

-Bourbon is a natural compliment to cranberries.  Whether you want to make bourbon cranberry relish, orange bourbon cranberry sauce, or bourbon vanilla cranberry sauce, it will be a sure crowd pleaser.

-Sweet potatoes also go great with bourbon.  I mean, what doesn't go great with bourbon?  These twice baked bourbon hazelnut sweet potatoes look awesome, but if you prefer your sweet potatoes in casserole form check out this recipe for bourbon bacon sweet potato casserole with maple.

-It's always nice to have a green salad on the table to balance out all that fatty food.  This warm bourbon spinach salad with bacon and avocado definitely fits the bill.

-Thanksgiving wouldn't be complete without green beans, and if you want to skip the canned soup and fried onions tradition this year, try these Bayou bourbon green beans instead.

-You'll want to serve a cocktail of some kind.  This year I plan to make Manhattans with bourbon barrel aged bitters, but this double cider bourbon punch recipe looks festive and delicious.

-There are about a bazillion (approximately) bourbon pie recipes out there, but this bourbon apple pear pie and this bourbon pecan pie look scrumptious.
