Lovers of country music should head out to Highview Park on Friday night, for a free concert by local artist Clark Absher.  His opening act is none other than the nationally famous Ft. Knox Army Band Dragoons, playing some crowd-pleasing pop selections.

Clark Absher1.jpgMetro Councilman James Peden (R., Dist. 23) is sponsoring a free summer concert series at Highview Park based on the success of the former Music in the Metro series. A different concert will be held every other Friday from July through September and the event is open to the public, family friendly, and free. Local vendors will be on hand with a variety of food options, and people are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the show. Highview Park is located at 7201 Outer Loop, (enter through Briscoe Lane.)

Friday August 10th  gates will open at 5:00 p.m. and music will begin at 6:00 p.m. with performances by Clark Absher, a rising local country music artist who tours regionally, and the Ft. Knox Army Band Dragoons, which is bringing its full 50 member band. The Dragoons are the secoDragoons.jpgnd oldest active duty Army band, in operation since 1840.

There will also be a free raffle (must be present to win) for Mumford and Sons tickets (compliments of Oak St. Productions) and Actors Theatre tickets (compliments of Republic Bank.)
