Mozart crafted his first mini composition by the age of five. Yo-Yo Ma began studying the cello at four-years-old, and opera prodigy Charlotte Church received her big break at the tender age of 11. Do you know a young person with musical talent? They may not be the next Mozart, but they could be the next winner of the Classical 90.5 / PNC Wealth Management Young Artist Competition!
The Young Artist Competition (YAC) is a great opportunity for Louisville youth to showcase their musical talents. Solo musicians and ensembles between ages 8-18 are encouraged to enter the competition, which will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Louisville Public Media, 619 S. Fourth Street (inside the Classical 90.5 Performance Studio).
The winners of YAC will be featured in the Winner’s Recital on Classical 90.5's live performance broadcast, Lunchtime Classics, on Wednesday, November 28, 2012. That’s not all, though. There’s a first place cash prize of $200 up for grabs. So, tune your strings, shine your brass, and play your best, kids!
This event is free and open to the public. For more information and an application, please visit http://www.wuol.org/yac/ or contact Alan Brandt at (502) 814-6542 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications must be postmarked by October 26th, 2012.
