February is such an enchanting month. By the end of January, you can already feel the pre-Valentine anticipation in the air. Every foodie spot that aspires for local celebrity/distinction/total adoration status bustles for the attention of delightful passersby seeking that just-right place to take loved ones. Looking to conjure instant date magic? In a frenetic time of over-thinking or under-planning, I have found chocolate is always a good choice.

Clearly The Comfy Cow, favorite ice cream shop extraordinaire, agrees, as we are about to herald Louisville’s 5th Annual Chocopalooza! With the cacao bean’s incredible endorphin boosting and other decadent properties, The Comfy Cow is handing Louisvillians a golden opportunity: chocolate luxury transformed by genius ice cream wizardry.

The Comfy Cow with its well-rounded accoutrements and quirky flair makes for endearing, meaningful dates as well as treasured quality time with best friends and family. And now, for the entire month of February, you don’t have to just satisfy chocoholic yearnings with the fabulous ice cream co-devourers of your choosing. Thanks to The Comfy Cow, and founder Tim Koons-McGee, you can be simultaneously philanthropic, romantic, and satiated. Chocopalooza supports four charities while celebrating chocolate lovers of our great city.

All-Star Ice Cream Line Up for February (prepare to salivate):

Chocolate Lavender: Milk chocolate ice cream infused with organic lavender. Teaser trailer: chocolate and lavender always complement each other, and brilliantly so.

Cinammon Smitten: Local confectioners Schimpff’s Cinnamon Red Hots melted into white chocolate ice cream. I hear Schimpf's Red Hots are candies of legend. High level of intrigue!

Curry Curry: Luscious white chocolate ice cream swirled with sweet, organic curry white chocolate ganache. This flavor invention is one of the reasons I am The Comfy Cow's #1 fan. Forever spicing up ice cream via delicious innovation.

Chocolate “Brownie Points”: Comfy Cow’s signature chocolate, tumbled with huge chunks of freshly baked fudge brownies, toasted walnuts and a generous ribbon of hot fudge. My favorite kind of ribbon would for sure be crafted from literal "brownie points." Yes please!

Intense Dark Chocolate: An immensely intense dark chocolate ice cream with a silky smooth finish. Because ice cream can be a practically spiritual experience.

Chocolate Marsha Marsha Marsha Mallow: Comfy Cow’s signature chocolate ice cream loaded with swirls and swirls of gooey marshmallow. S'mores meets The Brady Bunch in ice cream metamorphosis.

Signature Chocolate: Simple, stellar, and absolute staple of chocolate contentment.

Chocolate Chip Off The Old Block: Pure, creamy blend of Madagascar and Indonesian vanilla ice cream bursting with glorious pieces of rich, dark Barry Callebaut chocolate. Just feast your eyes below- need I say more?

    The Comfy Cow

Over the years, this event has raised thousands of dollars for local charities and this year, The Comfy Cow is proud to be partnering with four Louisville charities:

10% of all sales will be benefiting these terrific organizations.

    February 1 through 7:  Make-A-Wish

    February 8 through 14:  Gilda’s Club

February 15 through 21:  Boys and Girls Haven

February 22 through 28:  The Fund for the Arts

Bon appetit, Comfy Cow fans! Charity via chocolate- the whole upcoming month of February. Oh Comfy Cow, be our collective valentine?
