    The heat and humidity are back in Louisville. Check out this list of some cheap things to do in the city this summer:

     

    MOVIE DEALS

    $5.50 movie tickets on Tuesdays at the Mall St. Matthews and XD TheaterTinseltown USA and XD and XSCAPE Theaters.

    $5.75 movie tickets on Tuesdays at Baxter Avenue Theaters, excluding 3D.

    $2 movie tickets on Tuesdays (excluding Louisville exclusives) and $3 on Thursdays at Village 8.

    $4 movie tickets for the Summer Kids Series at Stonybrook Thursdays at 10 a.m. Price includes admission, a drink and popcorn. 

     

    ART ACTIVITIES

    Painting classes at Pinot’s Palette, located at 291 N. Hubbards Lane, Suite 160. Reservations are required. There are all-ages options and 21 and over options that serve alcohol.

    $10 drop-ins to paint a canvas at Whet Your Palette at 1415 Evergreen Road.

    The Artist in You at 3733 Lexington Road has pottery to paint with prices ranging from $5-$75. 

    Paint pottery at the Paint Spot, located at 4600 Shelbyville Road.

    Silica Ceramics Studio in Jeffersonville also offers pottery painting. You can visit them at 246 Spring Street.

     

    MUSEUM DEALS

    The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft reopens July 1. Admission is free.

    At the Science Center, admission is only $5 per person for permanent exhibits after 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. 

    A self-guided tour at Glassworks is $5.75 for adults and $4.75 for seniors and students. 

    Starting June 20, there will be a $6 admission to the Slugger Museum 6-8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. 

    The 21c museum is free and always open to the public.

    The Speed Art Museum is always free on Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.

    WATER RECREATION

    Here, you'll find a list of splash parks around Louisville. 

    At Louisville Metro Parks pools, admission is $2 for children 17 and under, and $3 for adults 18 and over. A photo ID is required for anyone 9 or older, and those 8 and younger must be accompanied by a guardian 12 or older, with photo identification.

    Mary T Meagher Aquatic Center is an indoor pool with different hours and prices. Admission is $5.50 for ages 13 and over and $3 for ages 12 and under. It's located at 201 Reservoir Ave, and the phone number is (502) 897-9949.

    Recreational swim time at Mary T are during these hours only:

    Monday through Thursday: 12-3:30 p.m.
    Friday: 12-3:30 and 7 p.m.-9 p.m.
    Saturday: 12-6 p.m.

    Atlantis Waterpark in Clarksville, Indiana has a wave pool, four water slides and a kid play area. General admission is $8 Monday through Thursday and $10 on weekends and holidays, including Friday. Find it at 515 Marriott Drive, or call (812) 285-0863.
