Sp/files/storyimages/a fun filled day with the Orchestra! YUM! Food Brands and The Louisville Orchestra present “Halloween Spooktacular,” part of the orKIDStra series! This themed performance will take place on Saturday, October 27th at 11:00 AM in Whitney Hall at the Kentucky Center. This fun and spooky event features a Lemony Snicket mystery written specifically for orchestras and will be read by Louisville’s own Peter B! The Composer is Dead gives children a chance to become a detective and help Lemony Snicket solve this dastardly crime.
Bring the kids early for the Halloween themed pre-concert activities. The activities begin at 10:00 AM in the lobby of the Kentucky Center. Make sure to wear your Halloween costume! Come see what creepy and eerie potions can be made with help from the Louisville Science Center staff. Enjoy the tricks and illusions of our very own magician! Show us your singing skills in our Halloween themed “Spooky Karaoke!” And don’t forget to stop by the Mary Anderson room to meet the masters of music, your own Louisville Orchestra musicians, dressed up in their costumes! Then, a costume parade across the Whitney Hall stage will begin this family friendly concert!
The orKIDStra series continues with Cirque Capriccio in February and the orchestra premier of The Pied Piper with Tales & Scales in March! These concerts are a great way to introduce children to music and the way it interacts with movement, like acrobats in Cirque Capriccio, stories like The Pied Piper, and everyday life. In a partnership with local museums, subscribers to the orKIDStra series receive FREE child admission with purchase of one adult admission to the Louisville Slugger Museum, Frazier International History Museum, Muhammad Ali Center, and Louisville Science Center. These admissions are good on the day of our orKIDStra concerts and are only offered to our subscribers! Subscribers also receive the best seats in the house! Even though the concert is open seating, a special VIP section will be roped off in the front of the house and box seats sections.
Subscriptions available to all three concerts for $41
Single tickets for each concert are available for $15
