Donnie Baker is the outspoken, rude, not-all-there alter ego of comedian Ron Sexton. Baker was created as a character on the Bob & Tom syndicated morning show, and audiences immediately responded to the hard-headed nature of the perpetual blue collar outsider. Sexton immediately took his character on the road, getting the nod from his comedic idol, the late Tim Wilson, when Wilson hand picked him as his feature act and road sidekick.

Eventually Sexton's character swelled in popularity through the Bob & Tom show, and he soon found himself no longer featuring for his idol, but headlining on his own. Baker has a bad attitude and unique sense of self-importance that makes him arrogant about things he shouldn’t be arrogant about. It makes for a hilarious one-man show that you just have to see to believe.

Donnie Baker (aka Ron Sexton) will be performing at The Laughing Derby June 18 - 20.  Tickets are still available for this special event, and they are $20.

    About Brent Owen

Born and raised in Louisville, I have lived here most of my life (except during a short furlough, when I, lovelorn and naive, followed a girl to Baton Rouge). My roots are here, my family, my friends, and my life are all here. I work primarily as a free-lance writer for a few local and regional publications. I have also written two books (one a memoir, the other a novel) that barring some divine intervention, will probably never see the light of day. I find myself deeply ingrained in the local bar scene, or perhaps better said, I often indulge in the local drinking culture. I love music, movies, comedy, and really just about any other live performance art.
