A con man changes a family's lives in ways even he didn't expect in The Rainmaker, which Hayswood Theatre will present starting this weekend.

The Rainmaker will take place Fridays and Saturdays from Feb. 20-March 7 at 8 p.m. each night. Matinees will happen on Sundays Feb. 22, Mar. 1, and 8 at 2 p.m. each day. All performances are to go on at Hayswood Theatre, located at 115 S. Capitol Ave. in Corydon, IN.

Tickets for each show are $14 for adults, $12 for children, and $12 for seniors. Due to limited seating, advance reservations are highly recommended and can be done by calling 812-738-2138.

A major drought and a seemingly plain girl have affected the lives of those in The Rainmaker. The girl's father and brothers have become concerned not only with her finding a husband but also the dry, unrelenting heat. They have tried everything to find a suitor for her without success, and they have no ideas on how to cope with the heat. Then, unexpectedly, a man comes along. He claims to be a rain maker and, for $100, he can make it rain. Will the men go for it? What else may happen on the farm besides make it rain?

    N. Richard Nash created The Rainmaker, which Kathy Norton directed for Hayswood Theatre.

Following The Rainmaker, Hayswood Theatre will present Nunsense. The comedy will go on in May. More information on both shows can be found at the Hayswood Theatre website.
