Every Louisvillian remembers the outrageously huge fire that broke out on Main Street early last month. The thick cloud of dark smoke burned an unforgettable image into everyone’s mind as it engulfed the entire downtown district making it difficult for those standing by to see the status of our city’s historic Whiskey Row.

Luckily, Louisville’s selflessly dedicated team of firefighters came to the rescue that day and managed to keep Whiskey Row in tact with only minor repairable damages. And in appreciation of their tireless effort in extinguishing the fire and saving an irreplaceable piece of this city’s history, the owners of Doc Crow’s Southern Smokehouse & Raw Bar would like to welcome every Louisville firefighter involved with the Whiskey Row fire to their restaurant on Monday, August 31st for a free meal.

“We not only weren’t sure what would happen to our restaurant, but wondered about the fate of the historic row of buildings we’ve called home for more than four years and the safety of the Louisville Fire Department,” says co-owner of Doc Crow’s, Brett Davis about the fire which occuredon July 6th. “We could never truly repay the firefighters for what they did that day and every day, but wanted to say thank you in the only way we know how.”

In addition to serving Louisville’s bravest with a delicious free meal, Doc Crow’s will donate 10% of the day's total sales to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which is a charity that the Louisville Fire Department has partnered with closely.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association is an agency that strives to improve and save the lives of those diagnosed with muscular diseases. In 2013, Louisville’s firefighters raised $58,000 in donations for the association through a number of different fundraisers including the “Fill the Boot” drive.

Doc Crow’s is located at 127 West Main Street in Louisville’s historic Whiskey Row and will be open for business 11am – 10pm on August 31. For more information, visit the restaurant’s website
