Put should away your wallet. I’ve got you covered.

For the music lovers out there, it should be an easy decision as to what you will be doing this weekend because I’ve got multiple opportunities for you to enjoy awesome, free music.

Friday night start your weekend by heading down to West Main Street for the opening of Resurfaced. Shoot, ride your bike on a hopefully nice night. You wouldn’t even spend money on gas. At Resurfaced you will find one very interesting night at the pop up plaza and beer garden. There you will find Night Vision DJs and Junk Yard Dogs providing some great entertainment to kick off the six week creative opportunity at Resurfaced.

Saturday night into day should be awesome for lovers of local, regional, and national bands alike. Saturday debuts the first ever Seven Sense Festival. Located on Preston Street between Zanzabar and The New Vintage, this free street festival (plus tunes inside the two bookending music venues) is sure to deliver audio delights to fans of any genre. Bands that I’m looking forward to seeing at the festival include The Pass, Machines Are People Too, Howell Dawdy, Discount Guns, Small Time Napoleon, and Lazy Sunday. For those who want to open their pockets books, the beer and food selections will be amazing.  The brews will come from BBC, New Albanian Brewing Company, Falls City Brewing Co, and more. The festival is officially a part of Louisville Craft Brew Week. The grub will be by El Taco Luchador, North End Café, Lil Cheezers, and more. Nothing wrong with all of that. Seven Sense Festival takes place outside until 10 p.m. then continues until around 2 a.m. at The New Vintage.

If you are willing to leave this great street festival, make your way to Fourth Street Live for more free music. Young The Giant, a band who last played Louisville at Forecastle 2013. The band just released their second album “Mind Over Matter” in January and have been touring behind successful single “It’s About Time” and “Mind Over Matter.” Public, from Cincinnati that played Forecastle this year, will open the show.  This show ends Fourth Street Live’s big summer concerts, a season thar also included Neon Trees, Eli Young Band, and as always, Hot Country Nights.

You’re set folks--two nights and three different free, musical events in Louisville worthy of attention. Stay entertained, people.
