I almost want to call this edition the “booze news” because it’s mainly about new product releases and distribution.

-First and foremost, lest we forget that September is National Bourbon Heritage Month.  Click here for my list of events, and if you know of an event I’ve left off, tweet me @LouGirl502!  There’s a ton of great stuff on this list already, so be sure to mark your calendars so you don’t miss anything.

-Heaven Hill will release Elijah Craig 23 year old this month to select markets nationwide.  Click here for details.

-Old Forester Birthday will be released this month as well.  Click here for details.

-This year’s limited edition Four Roses Small Batch will feature four of the distillery’s ten recipes from barrels aged 9 to 13 years.  Click here for more information.

-Buffalo Trace will begin releasing its Antique Collection late in September and continue through early October, according to Bourbon Blog.  This collection includes George T. Stagg, Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye, William Larue Weller, Eagle Rare 17 year old, and Sazerac Rye 18 year old.  Click here for details.

-Maker’s Mark has released its Cask Strength offering.  I’ve had it twice and it’s amazing, but it’s only going to be available by the drink at select bars or by the bottle at the Maker’s Mark gift shop.  Most importantly, it’s expensive- $40 for a 375ml.  Click here for details.

-Copper and Kings is already becoming wildly popular for its bourbon barrel aged brandy.  They announced last week they’ve expanded distribution to Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, and Minnesota.
