The folks over at the Courier Journal have released their first prototype of Distill, an online magazine devoted (mostly) to bourbon an bourbon culture.  You can take a look at it here.  It is still in the development stage, and I will be very interested to see what the next issue looks like.

The second part of the Kentucky Whiskey Chicks’ Bourbon Sampler will be held 10/8 at 6 p.m. at Westport Whiskey and Wine.  This unique tasting and education experience is geared toward the ladies.  A few tickets are still available here.  Read my review of last month’s event here.

Congratulations go to Heaven Hill’s President Max Shapira for being named “Industry Executive of the Year” by Market Watch Magazine.  Shapira has been President since 1996.  Click here for more.

In other Heaven Hill news, the Bourbon Heritage Center is celebrating its 10th anniversary on October 15th.  Included in the celebration will be a special release of a commemorative Evan Williams Single Barrel Single Barrel Bourbon.  Click here for more.

Four Roses just opened their second Visitor’s Center in Cox’s Creek, KY in Bullitt County this week.  The center features vintage bottles and other Four Roses memorabilia and is expected to welcome 20,000 guests annually.  The facility will create twelve new jobs.

Copper and Kings Brandy Distillery announced this week it has expanded distribution into two more states and has also added absinthe to its repertoire.  This Louisville-made product is now available in seven states and counting.
