Good Garbage Creative Reuse Art Form Throwdown
    Print this page

Imagine the drama of Iron Chef... for Louisville crafters. If you love a good competition, no matter the terms, check out the April 16 Creative Reuse Art Form Throwdown (C.R.A.F.T.). Good Garbage is organizing the event, with proceeds going toward a “new to us” cargo van to support the non-profit’s workshops, educational outreach and donation retrieval.

Eight teams of two will battle through the brackets, completing assigned craft challenges with the materials provided – and the judges can be bribed, so that skill will come in handy, too.

A wine and beer cash bar will be provided, as well as food, a silent auction, raffles and door prizes. Old 502 Winery’s fun atmosphere should help inspire some creativity.

To see Louisville’s C.R.A.F.T. Champion crowned, or try for the crown yourself, register at the Good Garbage site. Entry fees are $40 per team, or $25 for audience members.

Good Garbage, which is dedicated to collecting and diverting recyclable materials to educators, students, crafters and artists, is ramping up for lots of spring and summer activities: kid camps, compassionate creations projects and five dollar First Fridays for adults are just a few. Show your support!

    About Kachina Shaw

A transplanted Hawkeye, I've now lived in Louisville longer than any other city. Can't live without: my husband and fur babies, coal-black coffee, peanut M&Ms, sunflowers, monthly vacations, books, walking paths, massage and a big purse.
