I still remember the first time I walked into Greenhaus. I had a black and white from Sunergos in hand, a bag full of maple bacon donuts from Nord's, and life was generally grand. Greenhaus had just opened, and the joy of discovery glittered into my day like a sparked flint. Greenhaus had all the things one needs for a well-rounded life: antiques, alcohol, chocolate, and succulents. Upon opening Greenhaus in 2010, owner Daniel Duncan told Business First that the eclectic mix of products came to be because, “We [Duncan and his parents, Michael and Janice] decided to focus on the things we really love, have an interest in and knowledge of." Through the years, Greenhaus hosted bands, art shows, food trucks, offered a bike touring package, and brought a ray of sunshine to Preston. In 2013, while celebrating three years of business, Duncan told Louisville.com that "This is all stuff I’m really into. Or maybe borderline obsessed...I’m really into design and style, and I want to craft a sense of that here.”

Duncan first posted about the closure on Facebook on February 20:

Greenhaus will certainly be missed as a wonderful little corner of weirdness in Louisville. Here's wishing the Duncan family all the luck in the world. Greenhaus will be open through March 28, Wed-Fri 4-7 and Saturday 12-5. You can visit their Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr here; buried in the Tumblr are several interesting "Your Haus" features, including one on Why Louisville/Funtown Mountain/Lebowski Fest's Will Russell from two years ago
