    Bit to Do

According to a post on their Facebook Page, Groucho's Bar & Karaoke, at 935 Goss Avenue, will close at the end of January 2015.

A reason isn't given for the closing, but it is noted that "We would like to make it clear that we are not closing due to lack of support and business."

Groucho's is a tiny place, and one that is much-beloved by Germantown-Schnitzelburg residents. It's the diviest of dives; it even makes Nachbar look mainstream. The regulars are mostly jovial, there for some raucous karaoke and inexpensive beer. I've never visited Groucho's without noticing a good crowd, and the small close atmosphere was full of people who were (during the time I visited!) incredibly positive and appreciative towards those singing. There are currently 135 comments on the Facebook thread announcing the closure, almost all of them containing some variation of "NO THIS CAN'T HAPPEN" or in one case "There is no God."

This article will be updated when and if more information is given about the impending closure of Groucho's. In the meantime, make their last month and a half or so their best.
