Mystery and music is in the air this October as Stage One presents its first show of the season, Bunnicula Saturday, October 20 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Bomhard Theater at The Kentucky Center.

The Monroe family, out for a night at the movies, has found a bunny in the theater. When a series of strange events happen upon bringing the rabbit home, a hilarious mystery ensues causing the wary household pets to look deeper at this exceptional bunny; and come to find a truly unique friend. A dancing cat, a howling dog and a vampire bunny are sure to bring laughs to any audience. While it is recommended for ages 5 to 10, families of all ages will enjoy this production.

Bunnicula is directed by Katie Blackerby Weible, Director of Education at Actors Theatre of Louisville and features such local favorites as Abigail Bailey Maupin, Gregory Maupin, Dewey Caddell and Clara Harris. Stage One is also pleased to host book adaptor and playwright K. Jon Klein, October 18-20. In addition to Bunnicula, Mr. Klein has also adapted two Hardy Boys books. Mr. Klein is currently head of the MFA Playwriting Program at Catholic University in Washington, DC. Mr. Klein is the author of numerous produced plays, including T Bone N Weasel (winner of an HBO Playwrights USA Award). His plays have been produced off-Broadway and at numerous regional theatres, including Actors Theatre of Louisville, CenterStage in Baltimore, and the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta.
