Louisville Craft Beer Week, (#lcbw2014) has been on locals’ minds since last Friday, but if you haven’t been able to enjoy the week’s festivities yet, check out these weekend events that will not only quench your thirst, but also give you a taste of Louisville’s finest craft beers and breweries.

To start the weekend off right (and be charitable at the same time), join Apocalypse Brew Works at their fenced-in brewery parking lot on Friday from 5–11 p.m. for Yappy Hour!, a fundraiser for the Kentucky Humane Society. Enjoy craft beer from ABW, great food, and live music with your four-legged friend! To keep the charitable fun a-yappin’, all dogs must remain on a leash at all times and copious amounts of beer must be drunk.

Next stop, Great Flood Brewing Company, from 6-11:45 p.m. on Friday, for the first-ever release of Kelvin’s Kilt, a barrel-aged Scotch Ale brought to you by Great Flood Brewing Company, Louisvillebeer.com, and Kelvin’s Cooperage. And as if this release couldn’t get any better, the Grind Burger Truck will be out back servin’ up some delicious gourmet patties.

By this third stop, we hope you will be calling an Uber to take you just under four miles to the BBC Taproom on East Main Street. From 8-11:45 p.m. Friday, The Cowboy Poets, from Nashville, and BBC will not only be putting a little stomp in your tap, but also some rare BBC beers on tap. This is definitely not an event you will want to miss!

And finally, as if you will not have had enough beer, join Against the Grain Brewery for another release, Du Pont Break, from 8 p.m. – 1 a.m. This beer, in honor of the eve of Zwanze Day, should be just as wild and delicious as that from the Belgian Cantillon Brewery.

Meet your hangover match promptly at 11 a.m. with Copper & Kings Brandy Distillery for a morning taste of a delicious barrel-aged brandy cocktail. Along with 24 other beers from 12 breweries, a pig roast from Feast BBQ, and good music from the Kentucky City Boys, this full day of brandy, beer, and pork will last until 7 p.m.

Next stop, Seven Sense Festival, at 2100 Preston Hwy, for a second round of beer, food, and more music, that will benefit Boys and Girls Haven. With 20 + artists, food trucks/booths, local vendors, and seven local/regional breweries, including our very own, BBC, Falls City, Sterling, and New Albanian, this event will last from noon- 11:59 p.m.

Continue your charitable efforts at Against the Grain Brewery from 6-11:45 p.m. with the Kentucky Guild of Brewers who will be auctioning off their “tricked out” kegerators, or refrigerators turned into kegs, to raise money for the James Graham Brown Cancer Center. Live music will be played and kegerators will be auctioned off here.

And finally, as if your weekend will not have already been filled with enough boozing, eating, and listening to good music, end it once again at Against the Grain Brewery. This special “recovery” brunch will be hosted by the folks of Louisvillebeer.com as they host their weekly podcast while you down fried chickin ‘n grits, screwdrivers, and beer from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
