Louisville-based neo-soul hip-hop band Jenna Dean has joined the #GivingTuesday and the #Unselfie project to benefit AMPED: Academy of Music Production Education and Development.

Starting today, #GivingTuesday, December 2, 2014, Jenna Dean will donate one half of all iTunes purchases of their hit single “Blown,” until midnight on Sunday, December 7, 2014. Donations will benefit AMPED, an organization Jenna Dean works closely with as volunteer mentors to help provide a safe environment for youth to explore their creativity through music.

AMPED provides free access to education, instruments, music therapy, technology and performance opportunities for Louisville’s young minds to thrive through the power of music.

Jenna Dean will also participate in the #Unselfie project. Taking place today, #GivingTuesday, everyone is encouraged to take a photo showing how they’re giving back, tag it #Unselfie and #GivingTuesday and upload it to Instagram, Twitter or Facebook until Thursday, December 4, 2014.

On Friday, December 5, 2014, Jenna Dean will be performing at the Mercury Ballroom in Downtown Louisville as the opening performance for the Here Come The Mummies show. Doors open at 7:30pm with the show beginning at 8:00pm. Tickets are $24.50 for general admission, available through mercuryballroom.com or ticketmaster.com.

    About Jenna Dean:

Heartbreakingly cool keyboards, gritty, raw guitar solos, and eclectic lyrics and vocal harmonies come together in a seemingly never-ending, lust & bourbon-fueled musical tryst that is Jenna Dean - the premier urban rock band. The unique sound of Jenna Dean draws upon music’s past and present to create the future: an incomparable sonic terrain grounded in live hip-hop instrumentation and soulful vocalization.

    About Bella Portaro

Happiness Cultivator. Blogger. Writer. Social Media and PR Maven. Dreamer. Louisville Lover. Blogger at Bella of Louisville; a lifestyle blog. A lifestyle is- by definition to me - the way in which one chooses to live their life. As I’ve entered into this chapter / book of my life with a strong understanding of who I am, lifestyle has become about the art of living well. This idea goes beyond creating a beautiful home and investing in my wardrobe. Living well means being kind, being good company, contributing to your community, and becoming a person of substance and grace. If designing a life full of substance and grace isn’t aspirational, I don’t know what else is. I love writing about events and things to do in Louisville. I hope you enjoy my posts and connect with me on social media!
