Jim Beam Bonded Release Party At Bourbons Bistro
    Print this page

Jim Beam announced a few weeks ago they would be adding a bonded bourbon to their lineup.  The internet erupted with praise and speculation.  Bonded bourbons have been getting a lot of attention lately.  They are usually a great value option in the $15-25 price range and you know they are always 100 proof and made at the same distillery in the same season.

The Bottled In Bond Act was one of the first consumer protections in the United States.  It was passed in reaction to constant quality problems with disreputable bourbon rectifiers.  They would sometimes put undesirable things like tobacco juice and battery acid into whiskey and label it as bourbon, sickening the consumers.  The Bottled In Bond Act led to the Pure Food and Drug Act, further protecting consumers from rampant quality issues.  You can read more about the Bottled In Bond Act and the Pure Food and Drug Act on The Filson’s website.

This historical product launch will take place at Bourbons Bistro on February 9th at 6:30.  Fred Noe, Master Distiller of Jim Beam, will be the guest bartender for this event, so reservations are sure to be filled up quickly.  Noe will also be raffling off a signed bottle of Jim Beam Bottled In Bond.  Raffle tickets are $1 apiece and proceeds benefit APRON.  Noe will also be making Bonded Tea and Old Fashioned cocktails during the event.
