Louisville has so much to offer when it comes to conventions. From gaming to comic books and everything in between, you are sure to find a convention that suits your interests. We've compiled a list of upcoming events to meet all of your geeky needs. Check it out:

Louisville Arcade Expo – March 6-8 – Triple Crown Pavilion

Last year was my first year attending the Louisville Arcade Expo, and I had so much fun! Non-gamers like myself can enjoy over 100 vintage pinball and arcade games while gaming experts can show off their skills on classic consoles and computers. The website and Facebook page boast of gaming tournaments, costume contests, concerts and a vendor area. There will also be a special guest speaker, David Crane, who is a game developer and one of the founders of Activision. For just $15 a day or $35 for a weekend pass, you can join in the fun. Plus, kids 10 and under get in free with adult admission! For more information, visit

ConGlomeration – April 3-5 – Triple Crown Pavilion

This will be my first year attending ConGlomeration, which regards itself as Louisville’s grassroots interactive sci-fi and fantasy convention. According to their website, there will be an art show and auction as well as a print shop. A costume masquerade and panels will also be held, with so much more! Registration is just $45 at the door. Children five and under get in free. I am excited to see what ConGlomeration has to offer! For more information, visit

Derby City Comic Con – June 20-21 – Kentucky International Convention Center

Derby City Comic Con will be bigger than ever this year! Moving to a different area of the Kentucky International Convention Center (Hall 2D) will give Derby City more floor space and the ability to grow. Derby City will have a huge vendor and artist space, which is perfect for all of your shopping needs. Katie Cook, of My Little Pony fame, is one of the featured artists with more artists to be announced. There will be costume contests for adults and kids, panels, and a kids’ area complete with trivia games and a scavenger hunt. A weekend pass is just $20. (Saturday only passes are $15. Sunday only passes are $10.) Kids 10 and under get in free. As always, a Groupon will be available for admission to Derby City Comic Con. More information can be found at

Fandom Fest – August 7-9 – Kentucky International Convention Center

Fandom Fest has already announced three guests with more to come! Jeremy Howard from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Breaking Bad and Galaxy Quest will be in attendance, as well as Doug Jones from Fantastic 4, Pan’s Labyrinth and Hellboy. Lando Calrissian himself, Billy Dee Williams, will also be attending. The Comic Book Men Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Michael Zapcic and Meng Chen will be performing a live broadcast of “Jay and Silent Bob Get Old!” Tickets are on sale now with many different packages available. Autograph, photo op and special event tickets are also on sale. For more information, visit

Wizard World – November 6-8 – Kentucky International Convention Center

Even though it’s more than nine months out, Wizard World has already announced that Bruce Campbell and Lou Ferrigno will be attending. Last year was a huge success, despite the convention being held right in the middle of March Madness. Moving it to November was a good idea and hopefully the convention will gain even more steam this year. More information about Wizard World Louisville and their other conventions can be found on Wizard World's website.

    OC3 – November 7 – Oldham County Public Library

OC3 was a huge hit last year and it was recently announced via Facebook that this convention is coming back again this year! Not a lot of information has been released yet, but last year was tons of fun for all ages. Check out OC3’s Facebook page to stay updated.

If you’re looking for family fun, look no further than these conventions, and check back with for reviews and pictures of these Louisville area cons! Did I miss your favorite convention? Leave it in the comments!
