Kentucky Bourbon Festival Kickoff This Weekend
    Print this page

If you thought the Kentucky Bourbon Festival only happened in the fall, you’re wrong.  This weekend in Bardstown, KY you can enjoy Derby-themed events like race horse blackjack and craps while drinking the best Kentucky Bourbon anywhere.

Friday night, April 25 from 7-10 p.m. at the Guthrie Opportunity Center, check out “Racing with the Spirits”.  Guests can play games, listen to music, and sip bourbon for only $40 per person.  Bet on imaginary horses named for your favorite bourbon brands or Master Distillers.

Then on Saturday, April 26, you can check out the Bardstown Sampler.  For only $50 per ticket, you can sample delicious bourbons, snack on some yummy food, and see the new Commemorative Poster.  Scholarship winners will also be announced at this event.

A discount is offered if you purchase tickets to both events.  (Tickets are available here.)  This is another great way to bolster your Citizen Bourbon Ambassador training.  Get out there and meet other bourbon lovers, try some new bourbons, and party like it’s Derby time.

Bardstown is a hotbed of bourbon activity.  The Oscar Getz Whiskey History Museum is in Bardstown.  Featured among the museum’s collections are moonshine stills, antique whiskey jugs, and Presidential liquor licenses.  The museum also houses the Bardstown Historical Museum, which contains interesting information about the area’s history.

In addition, you can visit the Heaven Hill Bourbon Heritage Center.  One of their tours includes a trolley ride to beautiful and historic Main Street in Bardstown, which has been voted one of the most beautiful Main Streets in America.

What better way to learn about bourbon than to party where they make it!  Buy your tickets soon, as they are likely to sell out.
